Bar & Bat Mitzvah
One of the proudest moments in a Jewish family's life are the rights of passage known as Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah. According to tradition, boys, prior to the age of 13 and girls, prior to the age of 12, are the responsibility of the parents'. Once a boy or girl reaches the age of 13 and 12 respectively a celebration is held for friends, family, and community.
